Karachi has been thought to be the southwestern pillar of the cultural edifice of Sindh. The cultural history of Karachi goes back at least 500 years from the emergence of Indus Civilization in the 3rd millennium B.C. The culture appears to be essentially Neolithic with widespread use of small chart implements and semi-precious stones.
